For over 100 years, Pekin Park District has maintained some of the most remarkable parks in Central Illinois. These parks offer a wide range of activities including... horseback riding, mountain bike trails, a miniature golf course, two public 18-hole golf courses, waterpark,
ice skating arena, bocce ball courts, sand volleyball, tennis courts, a state-of-the-art athletic center, lagoon, blue bird trail, hiking/biking trails, and indoor golf.
A new Xtreme roller blading/skate-boarding park is great fun as well. Additional information can be obtained by calling the recreation

| McKinley Dirksen Park Complex
On state route 98, these parks have been left mostly in their natural state and offer wonderful hiking trails. At McNaughton, a Blue Bird Trail has been established by the Pekin Women’s Club. In addition, a Mountain Bike trail is also available as well as an 18-hole Frisbee Golf Course.
There are two lakes for fishing and an archery range.
The RC Airplane Club flies in a field at Dirksen Park.
Coalminers Park
Located on the east side of Parkway Drive adjacent to Parkview Golf Course, this 45-acre picturesque park boasts a wooded area in its natural state.
There are football/soccer fields, shelter, restrooms and nature trails, as well as hiking/biking trails.
McNaughton Park
Located just 10 minutes from downtown Pekin on state route 98, east of state route 29. Horse rentals for all ages are available. Ride year-round on scenic trails through McNaughton Park.
For groups of 20 or more, campfires are available after your ride.

Mineral Springs Park
Over 200 acres centrally located in Pekin, Mineral Springs Park has a historic pavilion overlooking the lagoon with boats for rent, ball diamonds, DragonLand Water Park, Putt the Magic Dragon (an 18-hole miniature golf course), a gazebo, a new children’s playground, beautiful flower gardens and other amenities.
